Belly tops, flip flops,
Lemonade, in the shade
Blue skies, hot guys,
Late nights water fights,
Ice creams, sweet dreams,
Bathing suits, shooting hoops..
Summer is here! Well.. almost. The most fun season of the year is just less then three weeks away, but I’ve been into summer mood a while now. Although Istanbul is not the greatest place to be during this hot season due humidity, I still love summer a lot and I can’t wait for it to officially start. Here are my ten favourite things about summer coming up!
Swimming in the sea
Duhh. As you might now I’ve always wanted to be a mermaid. I just love to swim in the sea! Especially when it’s a clear sea with calm waves and warm water, but I also enjoy the deep and cold waters of ocean.
Only because it’s the closest thing to going barefoot through life. Okay, and because they go with everything and are so damn comfortable.
No explanation needed.
Oh, I wish I could live on a tropical Island and enjoy the beach all year ’round. I don’t get why people are so bothered by the feeling of sand everywhere by the way, I think it’s one of the best feelings ever! Sand between your toes, in your hair.. Yeah, I really wish I could spend the majority of my time here.
Fruits and vegetables
Speaking off fruits and veggies.. they are not only fresher and more colourful, they also are cheaper and more tasteful. And of course the offer is endless. I love eating light and easy meals and snacks during this hot days.
I’m definitely a person who likes to wear natural colors, but in summer I like to add a pop of bright colors into my outfits. It makes me feel just a `bit happier. Summer in general is associated with bright colors. Colourful flowers are seen everywhere and fruits and vegetables turns up fresher and more colourful during summertime. I love it!
I just love it and can do it all day, every day, all summer long. Preferably at the beach, but any place where I can jump into the water to cool off is fine.
Grilling and Chilling
Because everything tastes great grilled! Absolute favorite is to barbecue at the Belgrad Forest, 15 kilometers north-west of Istanbul. It’s a perfect place to escape from the heat and enjoy a delicious BBQ with some music, drinks and friends.
I can’t get enough of it.
No need for endless layers, I just put on a cute dress or fancy jumpsuit and I’m ready to go.
