Ten Feel Good Series to watch when you’re feeling down

We all have those days when we’re just feeling ‘blah’. Like when you’re just feeling hopeless, tired or lacking energy because you’re sick, having that periode of the month, or just got some bad news. Perhaps you’re stressed, feeling a bit lonely or left out, or maybe you’re just bored. Or perhaps is just bad weather. Whatever your reason is, I think it’s important to give ourselves permission to not always be happy and to give ourselves some time to just do nothing except to indulge in a little escapism called: “I want to lie like a couch potato, eat chocolate and watch TV”. Because sometimes, that’s the only things that makes us happy when we’re not feeling so good. And so, to support you in being a couch potato, I’ve put together this list of ten feel good series to watch, smile & laugh when you’re feeling down. Enjoy!

Fuller House is a sitcom and sequel to the series Full House. It’s a dose of nostalgia and everything you might need to cheer yourself up. At the moment there are two seasons available, but the series is renewed for a third season. I can’t wait!

2 Broke Girls is a laugh-out-loud sitcom that follows the lives of Max, who grew up in poverty and Caroline, was raised as the daughter of a billionaire. At the moment the show is running its six season and although it doesn’t have the best story line, I hope there is more to come because it’s actually quite hilarious and makes me laugh every time I watch it.

Black-ish is about a upper-middle-class black family, living in a white, upper-middle-class neighborhood, going through the ups and downs that come with every household. The family is so likable and hilarious, the make you laugh out loud guaranteed.

This is Us follows the lives of several people who all share the same birthday and the ways in which they are similar and different. It really one of the best series of the moment that will make you feel better no matter what your current situation is.

The Ellen Show might not be a series, but makes you laugh so much that I’d to put it in this list. This show will make you laugh and forget about all your troubles. Ellen Degeneres is a hero, she is such an inspiring person and I truly love her. I can watch her shows and videos non-stop, she just makes my day.

Younger is about the recently divorced 40-year old mother that, after being mistaken for younger than she really is, decides to go through life as an 26-year old. It’s a light and funny show that’s easy to watch, about all kind of life issues and will make you feel better instantly.

Schitt’s Creek follows Johnny Rose, a rich video store magnate, and his family: his soap star wife Moira, his über-hipster son David and socialite daughter Alexis. When they suddenly become broke, they are forced to start a new life in Schitt’s Creek; a small depressing town they once bought as a joke. This is pure comedy; quite absurd at times and hilariously funny.

The Good Place follows Eleanor, a trash talking woman who enters the afterlife. She quickly realizes that a mistake has been been and she is accidentally sent to ‘The Good Place’ instead of ‘The Bad Place’.
Hoping to stay in ‘The Good Place’, she’s must hide her past bad behavior and tries to become a better person.
It’s an absurd but very funny show that will definitely make you feel good while getting a few life lessons as well.

One Day at a Time follows three generations of a Cuban-American family living in the same house. The series is focusing on the mother, Penelope, a separated military veteran raising her son, Alex, and daughter, Elena, while her mother, Lydia, helps her take care. It’s very funny show, yes also very touching and tackling serious topics. I’ve watched all episodes in just a few days and I can’t wait until the next season comes out.

Jane the Virgin is a hilarious telenovela about Jane, a religious young Latina, who is a virgin and becomes pregnant. It’s totally over the top, but so, so good. It’s interesting, twisted, weird and funny and an excellent show to watch if you’re feeling down.

  • Anytime is a good time to watch a series for me! There are a whole bunch of them that I am watching. I like crime and action shows so Chicago PD, Fire & Med., How to get away with murder, Power, Have and the Have Nots etc. I have been meaning to catch up on FullerHouse but haven’t started yet. Some of these shows I haven’t heard about before though. Series keep me entertained and surely puts me in a better mood whenever I feel blah. I may check out a few of them you mentioned here.
