It has been a while since my last Picture Monday. It’s quite messy in my life lately. I don’t want to bother you, so I won’t go into details, but let’s just say that I’m not doing very well. I’ve been sick quite a lot again lately and my stomach is just killing me, so I decided to give myself a little break for as much as I could. It was also very busy with meetings and writing a plan for a new project with one of my friends. It’s really a big project for a new website which I’m not aloud to talk about at all until it airs. I’m not sure yet if we will get the contract, it might be that we have worked a lot on this plan for nothing, but if we do.. well that would be fantastic. Anyway, although I’ve been mostly been sick in bed writing, crying, researching and suffering for the last few weeks, of course I also had some normal days. So let’s continue and see what else I’ve been up to lately.
I got up so early in order to go to the airport, it was ridiculous! I got up at 5 a.m. and my flight was at 13.20 a.m. It was my own fault though, because I didn’t want to go with public transport because I was afraid to have a panic attack while dragging luggage around and Nevzat needed to be in the salon at 7 a.m. so the only option was to bring me away early and wait for hours at the airport. And so that`s what I did. Quite absurd, but that’s the way people who suffer from panic attacks handle life. When the plane took off I realized how big Istanbul actually is. Can you see the difference with the Netherlands? The plane was already about to land at Amsterdam when I shot this photo.
I barely took any photos while being in the Netherlands. I was quite busy and I kinda just forgot. I did however had some pretty delicious food as you can see. Man, I am craving for a kroket right now! The hot chocolate is white chocolate by the way. I didn’t even knew it existed and I must say that it’s really good.
I made chili con carne in collaboration with Santa Maria and it tasted absolutely delicious. You can check the recipe here, but it’s in Dutch.
I sometimes really long back to the Netherlands. It’s such a peaceful, green country. I’m sure I’ll be bored within a month, but life is really relaxed, easy and comfortable there. I do miss that every now and then. And look at those houses! I like Dutch houses so much.
My sister in law and I went for a walk in the fresh air. I really enjoyed being outdoors..
Because this is basically the only green we have nearby our home in Istanbul and as you can see it’s not much!
With my dad! I assume I can now freely post his pictures on the internet since he made this ones himself for his Instagram account!? He never wanted to be on the internet, but then out of the blue he made an Instagram and he is very active as well. So funny!
Of course I visit my best friend and her two daughters as well. They are two little troublemakers, but extremely funny. And they grow up so fast. It’s unbelievable. Ramona always make really good looking (and tasting) coffee! I think she should be a barista in her next life.
Proud to be Dutch!
Good to be back in this crazy, chaotic city!
Some food we`d in Istanbul the last few weeks. Only recently I discovered ciğer tava which I’m now obsessed with. It’s fried calf’s liver and absolutely delicious. I’ve always loved liver, but I don’t know a lot people who enjoy to eat this. At least not in the Netherlands.. I wonder if only certain countries enjoy this organ. Please let me know!
Left-overs for Mr. Kedi.
I really have some unknown problems with my phone sometimes. My photos just seem to disappear every now and then and I can’t figure out why. At first I though it might have something to do with my memory, but I still have lot`s of space on it and it also happens very randomly. I really don’t understand. Anyway, we had a lot of meetings for the website, but this is the only picture I seem to have.
I changed our apartment a bit and realized I’ve never done a proper home tour. I might actually do that sometime soon if you guys are interested.
I thought this girl was so cute!
Duckface. I’m outta here. Have a nice week ya’ll!
